Cheddary biscuity goodness

Wahoo it's time for pintester challenge #2!!!

If you haven't checked Sonja's Pintester out yet, you really need to. Sonja is hilarious and tells it how it is. I think we need more people like that. She hates baking but does it anyways, loves to drink and does that quite well from what I can tell from her blog, and does crafts cause its expected of her. Most of all, she tests out those famous pins on pinterest that we love to pin, just don't love to actually do.

Her first challenge was such a great hit, Sonja challenged us again, but this time to try one that she already tested. Well, when it comes to baking and drinking, I am IN!!! This one was much more successful than my first pintest - Painted rocks for the garden. If you are wondering, my garden is coming along so nicely!

I love everything about summer. Truly. I love the heat (though Seattle rarely gets above 80), long days, tans, and everyone seems to be in a better mood in general. Guess what else comes in the summer?!?! Movies in the park! Love them, and as soon as schedules come out in May I immediately add to my calendar the movies I want to go see. If you've never been to one, go! Screaming kids in costume, ignorant people in their high back lawnchairs sitting front row, and greasy truck food. Seriously, its fun. I load up the blankets, gather some food together picnic style, and if its doggie friendly I'll pick one of my creatures to go with me on a field trip.

Tonight its Moonlight Kingdom. Super excited. I haven't seen it so I hope its good. And need to get food together for it, so why not combine it with the pintest from Sonja. After scanning her list, I found one that sounded sooo incredibly yummy.

Imitation Cheddar Bay Biscuits from Red lobster.

Yep, that's right. Cheddar Biscuits. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Heres Sonja's original post.  The original recipe came from reddit. And its perfect for those people who like lots of pictures in their recipe book.

Hope no one is sensitive reading this blog.......

So, try it. And if the recipe didn't convince you, look at my pictures.

But, probably, my pictures won't help. The lighting in my kitchen is awful. so my pictures have a tint to it. And I cant figure out how to fix it in photoshop. apologies.

Believe it or not, I didn't have Bisquick at my house, Had to make a quick run to the store to pick some up, which was ok cause I needed to get some other goodies for the movie tonight.

So, the picture recipe didn't have any kind of size that the dough balls should be. So I just used all of it. Made 12 HUGE biscuits. Figured it didn't matter, its just me and hubby eating them no matter how small or big they are.

I added more cheese..... I couldn't help it. I love cheese. I am trying to go dairy free and am mostly successful except for cheese. I love it too much. There's a cheese shop 2 hours away in a town called Leavenworth WA. I will NOT admit to going there only to buy some cheese......

I may have dropped some cheese on the floor...... And the little creatures may have been looking for more cheese. At least I am not the only one addicted to the goodness of cheese.
Oh, hey, look, barefoot and cooking in the kitchen.... What a clichĂ© lol.

Don't forget the important part. The buttery seasonings that top the biscuit. I kinda adjusted a bit. I love garlic and basil. Sadly My Thyme and basil jars are the empty ones. Had just enough to put in the buttery seasonings. And I never measure spices when baking savory foods. So I cant tell you how much of each.

This pin was a huge SUCCESS!!!! and the best part is it was completely easy to bake and will give me mouth watering pleasure tonight at the movies. If they make it to the movies. I hear my hubby munching away on them as I type. Rather I hear him telling the creatures that they can't have any...

ENJOY and go BAKE!

  3. Yay! These things are goooooood. Glad they worked for you too! My little creature (who is actually a big creature, compared to your little guys) loves it when I drop cheese on the floor too.

  5. Thanks for the second opinion. I am so making these when a/c season is over! And, just for the record, there is no such thing as too much cheese ;-)
