Design Team call out

Hey everyone

Just wanted to post this for more publicity!
I am looking for a design team for my new scrapbook store
Looking for 4 lovely creative types right now - you get free product, I get some advertising. its a win win situation!

More info can be found here.
Yep, started a new blog. I debated on just making this my store blog also, I even linked to it and everything. but I feel like I need a place to ramble sometimes. Hubby only listens somewhat when I ramble, so that's what the internet is for YAY
So I keep this one, for my own personal use, layouts, whatever life decides to throw at me.
And for more professional types, that's the other blog, and to make it even more confusing is I am using wordpress. Oi, just trying to broaden my horizons haha.

Well, go check out the design team call out. Go check out the store, Any preorders on the NEW items get 20% off before Aug 5th. Use code CHA2013.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, I know I did. Got to check out Adam Craig band. he puts on such a great show! I loved every minute of it.

I think I am done plugging stuff now. Chat later!

Pink "Dreams" Layout

Hi everyone!!

I have been MIA the past week or so. I would like to say its cause I have been stuffing my face with those Cheesey Biscuits, but hubby took them to work the next day and they were gone gone gone.
I have been busy though, I am proud to announce that I opened up my scrapbooking supply online store. Go check it out, Nani ke Ola, I am looking for those smaller designers that you can't just find at the local scrapbook store. At lease not where I live. I am totally loving ChicTags , and hope to bring in 7 Dots Studio by the end of August. They are on vacation now... I want a three week vacation in August! Who am I kidding, I am on a permanent vacation now.

Anyways, back on track.
Today I have a layout that I am in love with.

This layout was inspired by the Color me Scrappy Challenge.  They had a sketch and a color challenge to go together.

These colors were so fun to mix and match! I looked through my paper stash and found a fun pink with a little bit of blue mixed in. The upper corner of the layout behind the "Dreams" title I painted on a bit more blue to have some fun with it.

The tag and Dreams title were cut out with my silhouette of course. I love that dang Silhouette. And now they have released a new stamp set! Now are able to make our own stamps on the Silhouette. I am so excited. And its on sale. To buy or not to buy...... oh why am I even pretending.

This was a lot of fun to make. I had some sequins sitting around that fell into the blue motif, and strung them up from the button. I was kinda imagining the kids mobile and a dream catcher. Now all it needs is some pictures.

Enjoy! Hope everyone is having some fun in the sun! Please please go check out my online store. Any feedback on the store is welcome also, constructive criticism   :)

Cheddary biscuity goodness

Wahoo it's time for pintester challenge #2!!!

If you haven't checked Sonja's Pintester out yet, you really need to. Sonja is hilarious and tells it how it is. I think we need more people like that. She hates baking but does it anyways, loves to drink and does that quite well from what I can tell from her blog, and does crafts cause its expected of her. Most of all, she tests out those famous pins on pinterest that we love to pin, just don't love to actually do.

Her first challenge was such a great hit, Sonja challenged us again, but this time to try one that she already tested. Well, when it comes to baking and drinking, I am IN!!! This one was much more successful than my first pintest - Painted rocks for the garden. If you are wondering, my garden is coming along so nicely!

I love everything about summer. Truly. I love the heat (though Seattle rarely gets above 80), long days, tans, and everyone seems to be in a better mood in general. Guess what else comes in the summer?!?! Movies in the park! Love them, and as soon as schedules come out in May I immediately add to my calendar the movies I want to go see. If you've never been to one, go! Screaming kids in costume, ignorant people in their high back lawnchairs sitting front row, and greasy truck food. Seriously, its fun. I load up the blankets, gather some food together picnic style, and if its doggie friendly I'll pick one of my creatures to go with me on a field trip.

Tonight its Moonlight Kingdom. Super excited. I haven't seen it so I hope its good. And need to get food together for it, so why not combine it with the pintest from Sonja. After scanning her list, I found one that sounded sooo incredibly yummy.

Imitation Cheddar Bay Biscuits from Red lobster.

Yep, that's right. Cheddar Biscuits. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Heres Sonja's original post.  The original recipe came from reddit. And its perfect for those people who like lots of pictures in their recipe book.

Hope no one is sensitive reading this blog.......

So, try it. And if the recipe didn't convince you, look at my pictures.

But, probably, my pictures won't help. The lighting in my kitchen is awful. so my pictures have a tint to it. And I cant figure out how to fix it in photoshop. apologies.

Believe it or not, I didn't have Bisquick at my house, Had to make a quick run to the store to pick some up, which was ok cause I needed to get some other goodies for the movie tonight.

So, the picture recipe didn't have any kind of size that the dough balls should be. So I just used all of it. Made 12 HUGE biscuits. Figured it didn't matter, its just me and hubby eating them no matter how small or big they are.

I added more cheese..... I couldn't help it. I love cheese. I am trying to go dairy free and am mostly successful except for cheese. I love it too much. There's a cheese shop 2 hours away in a town called Leavenworth WA. I will NOT admit to going there only to buy some cheese......

I may have dropped some cheese on the floor...... And the little creatures may have been looking for more cheese. At least I am not the only one addicted to the goodness of cheese.
Oh, hey, look, barefoot and cooking in the kitchen.... What a cliché lol.

Don't forget the important part. The buttery seasonings that top the biscuit. I kinda adjusted a bit. I love garlic and basil. Sadly My Thyme and basil jars are the empty ones. Had just enough to put in the buttery seasonings. And I never measure spices when baking savory foods. So I cant tell you how much of each.

This pin was a huge SUCCESS!!!! and the best part is it was completely easy to bake and will give me mouth watering pleasure tonight at the movies. If they make it to the movies. I hear my hubby munching away on them as I type. Rather I hear him telling the creatures that they can't have any...

ENJOY and go BAKE!

Sweet Tastes of Disney Layout

Mmmmmmm

I have a love/hate relationship with doing food layouts. Looking at the pictures of the food makes me hungry all over again. But not just run to my kitchen and grab a bag of chips, no, I am talking get back on a plane and fly to wherever that food was gotten.
I need an excuse to go back to Disney, ASAP! Actually its probably a good thing I don't live closer as I would probably gain way to much eating there on a weekly basis.

And just when I am done with this one, I realized I still have a few more food pages to go. Anyone remember how that Monte Cristo sandwich just kinda melts in your mouth? Yea, now you want to go back too.

So, this layout is for the Scrap Friends Sketch Challenge.   The design team over there came up with some great layouts! Always puts pressure to make sure mine can even somewhat compare. But I love my layout!

I have been having tons of fun with my red mist paint on my Disney layouts. And I have been a bit more relaxed and not so rigid with my Disney layouts. That probably sounds weird... Guess I am just going with the flow of it, not planning out the entire layout before cutting. I figure Disney is fun, so creating my scrapbook pages should be fun too. I love how this layout came out with all the stamping, arrows, and of course GLITTER! Had to add the glitter somehow.

Enjoy!

Peter Pan Adventure Double page layout

Hello everyone!!!

I hope everyone has had an awesome week. I have been sooooo busy! It was pride weekend last week, always worth a good time. Although I swear over the past few years, hmm, maybe 10 but I won't admit to being that old, there was stricter rules on clothing, or rather, bodily parts that had to be covered....
Yea, I saw wayyyy to many wobbly parts....

Ok, moving onto better thoughts now. THE SUN HAS BEEN OUT. Makes me sooo excited. My tan is coming along nicely. Don't yell at me about sunblock, I wear it! But I only look my true heritage when I tan (I am Hispanic, not Italian, promise).

I hope everyone had an awesome 4th of July and didn't lose too many limbs or digits. Oh, heeey, maybe all the single ladies collected some good digits!!!

To show that I have been productive, here is my layout for the Scrap Friends Colour Palette Challenge.

The colors were beautiful, and allowed me to dip into a paper stack that I haven't had an excuse (ha, like we need an excuse!) to get into.

Super cute colors right! You still have a few more days if you want to join in.  :)

I am super bummed my camera didn't pick up on the beautiful background paper. Its a really pretty, ummm, lets call it light lime green? patterned paper. Large journaling area, which I think is needed cause well, it can fit a lot of pictures. I find good journaling necessary for adventurous pictures.

Here's a few close ups of the corners. I really like how this page turned out, can't wait to get some photos on it to finish it off.

DOH this picture is crooked! But love the 'treasure' on the journaling page!

Who do you think of when it comes to fun kid adventures, Peter Pan of course! He could fly and got into sword fights, ate any kind of foods he wanted. Although I would say I think it would be annoying if my shadow ran away all the time... Except when trying to sneak up on someone, then it would be awesome.

Have a good one everyone! And leave a comment, they make me happy! A happy Jenn is a good Jenn

Scrap Our Stash Challenge

Hey everyone! Back with yet another challenge layout. I think I am done for this month as the sun has FINALLY reached Seattle and my garden needs some tending to.
I know most of the country is in the 100's, so I'll be very grateful for my 80 degree weather. woot woot!

Ok, this layout was for the Scrap Our Stash challenge. There was a layout, with some extras including using Twine/jute and a tag. I love tags, and have seen some fabulous uses of tags lately. I don't know why but I found this one really hard to do. I found my paper right away, Loved using up some scraps that have been sitting around for who knows how long, but arranging it was a challenge.
I finally came up with something that I liked.

I love the paisley paper, and the more subdued blues and greens to go with it. I am glad I had a chance to resurrect these papers as they were used for my Italy scrapbook which is long done by now.

From my previous challenge that used the color resist technique I was still on an embossing kick, so I grabbed my "Butter" Zing embossing powder and had some fun with the tag. Afterwards I stamped with a combination of the blues and greens that are seen throughout the page. I wanted that tag to be a bit darker and love how it turned out.

Hope you all enjoy, leave some love and comment!
